Why “Intelligence Unit” ?

In addition to our everyday work developing and maintaining the SCIO database and website www.communitiestogether.org.uk , we are aiming to become the hub for statistical data evidencing the state of the third sector across Staffordshire. This data can be used locally and county-wide to support voluntary and community organizations and to influence policy makers and funders.

UK Online centre!

There are still around 10 million people in the UK who don’t use the internet. Some have never been on the internet and others “had a look” some years ago and haven’t been back since!

We want to help get Burton-on- Trent on line – so have registered as a UK Online centre. We’re here to help you, your staff and volunteers get on-line with our FREE and easy to use computer and internet courses.

Starting in April, we’re delivering Online Basics - two 1 hour sessions covering:

• How to use a mouse
• How to use a keyboard
• Open, read and send emails
• Find and use on-line searches
• Staying safe on line

There’s no “techy talk” - just easy to follow, step by step help and support to get you started on line.

If you know anyone who might be interested – volunteers, staff, relatives or friends please contact Julie Tibbitts – julie@escvs.org.uk or telephone Julie or Michele on 01283 543414 for details or to register on a course.
